We are OZEV qualified and fit seven units. If there are panels on the roof, the right charger will hold off until the array is producing a surplus, so the car fills on your electricity instead of the grid's.
The cheapest mile is the one your roof paid for.
Exported electricity earns 16p a unit. The same unit put into the car instead displaces petrol, or grid electricity at 28p.
A diverter does the same job for hot water — a myenergi Eddi sends the surplus to the immersion once the battery is full. We fit both, and on most jobs the two together are what make the surplus worth having.

EV charging, the common questions
If you have an array, yes — a Zappi is the usual choice. It watches what the house is exporting and diverts the surplus to the car, so you fill up on your own generation rather than buying it. On a bright day that is most of a commute's worth for nothing.
Mostly it comes down to whether you want a tethered cable or a socket, whether the unit will be seen from the street, and whether you already have solar. The electrical differences between them matter far less than people expect. We will tell you which we would fit and why.
Sometimes. It depends on the spare capacity, the earthing arrangement and the condition of what is already there. It is one of the things the survey checks, and if it is needed it goes in the written quote rather than appearing on the day.
